The Alamo is considered by many as a American fought battle but it wasn't in fact many of the Defenders felt the were good Mexican citizens they were unhappy with the Mexican Government change from the constitution of 1824 , Santa Anna's policy of no prisoners came back to haunt him big time at San Jacinto , the battle won Texas their independence , the battle lasted just 18 minutes with 748 Mexicans killed mostly by knife and bayonet as opposed to 10 Americans killed .:hide:
