I am collecting information on Radars in service and in development in Europe at the moment and I was wondering if anyone out there knew any good links or information sources, or indeed, a load about Radar systems?

One of the things that changed radar dramatically was the megtron valve. This valve was a was major step forward and brought brought on board radar that could be used for navigation.

What do you want to know? I have a retired Royal Navy,Radar engineer living with me.If you have any technical questions, post them and I'll find out the answers for you.

For you youngsters, a valve was a vacuum tube.

This is not a plug for my company but they were the earliest source for radar and tubes.

In the more than 80 years since, the company would become known for many more major technological advancements that have changed the course of American culture and world history. Among these innovations are the first commercial microwave ovens, miniature tubes for hearing aids, the Fathometer depth sounder, the mass production of magnetron tubes, early shipboard radar, the first successful missile guidance system, a space communications system, mobile radio telephones, the first combat-proven air defense missile system and Terminal Doppler Weather Radar.
