WWII Quiz

I am stumped by this one as I can not find any bomber pilots who shot down any bombers from the pilots seat primarily because I can not think of any bombers where the pilot had control of the guns.

.
Obviously there was @ least 1! One non-factory bomber (not involved with the question!) was the A-20s modified in the South West Pacific Theater as "Commerce Destroyers" that had 13 forward firing 50 cal. machine guns that were pilot controlled. Some of the guns left no room for a bombedier, filling up the nose.

Well I guess I will throw out another question...

Approximately one week before the Doolittle raid on Tokyo there was another series of raids on Japanese positions in the Philippines, over three days they flew 20 sorties without loss.
Who commanded the raids?
Brigadier Gen. Ralph Royce

OK, it was Adrian Warburton, RAF, flying a Martin Maryland bomber.

That is rather bizarre as I have just finished watching a documentary on him, didn't he die flying a P-38 on a reconnaissance mission?

Can you define ww2?
Are you including the Sino-Japanese war, US ships escorting convoys 1939-42 or just the period of US hostilities Dec 41 to 1945?

So we can count out the USS Ward as war hadn't been declared when it was shooting at a Japanese midget submarine.
