Two soldiers were killed and nearly 50 people wounded in a car bomb attack on a Turkish gendarmerie base in the southeastern town of Hani overnight, security sources said on Tuesday. Security sources told Reuters that two soldiers were killed and nearly 50 wounded. Following the attack, Turkish gendarmerie and special forces launched an operation with air support in the town center and the countryside around Hani, north of the provincial capital Diyarbakir, the largest city in the mainly Kurdish southeast.
