Can someone in the Corps gimme some info from experience about what the Small arms technician does. i know they are basically like a gun smith, ive read the Written definition of it, but thats just a basic synopsis ..but maybe could someone put it into a little more indebt about what my average day as a small arms technician would be like...

MOS 2111. Depends on what unit you are assigned to. Smaall Arms Repair Tech is a fancy word for Armorer. You trained to repair small arms. But the unit your assigned to dictates your duties.

If your assigned to an Infantry Company, Arty Battery or any individual unit you will be responsible for maintaining that units armorery. Ensuring that weapons function properly etc.
But at a unit level you can only provide second Echelon Repairs.

If you are assigned to a FSSG Ordance Co. You perform 3rd Echelon repairs.

Echelons are the level of repair. Everything in the Corps has different repair echelons.

Couldn't really tell ya. I suppose it's got it's bright side. I very seldom saw an Armorer in the field. Except maybe during MCRES.
