Senate Panel Approves D.C. Voting Rights Bill     (CQPolitics.com)
CQPolitics.com - The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee by a 12-5 vote approved S 1257 to give the District of Columbia a full voting member in the House. The bill also would give Utah a fourth congressional district, beginning in the 2008 election. It would permanently expand House membership to 437 and provide Utah an additional Electoral College vote, bringing the total votes to 539.
