A sailor on board the carrier Dwight D. Eisenhower was killed Saturday night when he was hit by a plane during a training exercise, according to the Navy.
The sailor's name has not been released pending family notification, according to Navy spokeswoman Lt. Courtney Hillson.
The incident happened at 8:15 p.m. Saturday during training off the coast of North Carolina, Hillson said.
No additional details were released.
