Topic: Who said that?


My son has recently joined the Army and is currently in basic at Ft. Sill Ok. He has been requested to determind who said " I was not strong enough to defend so I attacked" . He can get a pass if he gets it right.
Can anyone help me?Thanks

I haven't been able to confirm Lee could it have been Col. Chamberlain at Little Round Top duing the battle of Gettysburg? He was suppose to have held at all cost and when running out of ammo ordered a bayonet charge and successfully defended the left flank.

I think it stands on one of the walls in the National Military Command Center...

The actual quote bu Lee is "I was too weak to defend, so I attacked".

But if the quote you are looking for is "I was not strong enough to defend so I attacked", then I can't find any info about it....
