Russia says ballistic 'objects' fired in Mediterranean

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russian radar detected two ballistic "objects" that were fired towards the eastern Mediterranean from the central part of the sea on Tuesday, state-run news agency RIA quoted the Defense Ministry as saying. The Defense Ministry declined immediate comment to Reuters. A ministry official had earlier criticized the United States for deploying warships in the Mediterranean close to Syria. Ballistic Objects??? WTF is that supposed to mean?

Old rotten potatoes being thrown maybe? .... Toilet rolls perhaps?...
 
I suspect they are using the adjective usage.

"relating to or characteristic of the motion of objects moving under their own momentum and the force of gravity"

Or in short they noticed that what went up also came down.

Why they just couldn't say "we detected a couple of missiles being fired" I don't know.
