Turkey's military said Sunday that it launched overnight air and artillery attacks on Kurdish separatist rebels in northern Iraq after an insurgent strike on a military base.
The raids targeted members of the Kurdistan Workers' Party who fled into Iraq after attacks in Turkey on Friday night. Two soldiers were killed in the initial attack, and four died in ensuing clashes.
