Pentagon Trivia

Team Infidel

Forum Spin Doctor
Ok, here is the game... Now that I work in the puzzle palace, I wanted to start a trivia game based on that lovely building. So here goes.

How many square feet of office space is inside the Pentagon?

Floor area of 6.5 million square feet, 34 acres, 13.8 hectares, of which 3.7 million square feet are used for offices.

If an imaginary string was stretched around the circumference of the Pentagon, then, it was lifted exactly one inch all the way around, what would be the circumference of the one inch adjusted string? :?: Tick tock, tick tock, tick tock.

4,605 feet would be the circumference of the Pentagon.

However, the circumference of the string is impossible to determine from the information provided.

Isn't it perimeter instead of circumference?

Yes, actually perimeter is a synonym for circumference, but when you get away from a circle (and it's point A for the radius) even with an elipse, the math becomes a nightmare of derivatives and integrals, and approximations ad nauseum. Maybe some Russian or Indian mathematician can solve it in fifty years or so.
