Reuters - Efforts to rescue 29 men trapped in a New Zealand coal mine stalled for a third day on Monday, with authorities fearing the colliery is a powder keg of explosive gases and relatives praying for a miracle.

Unfortunately, accidents in gassy coal mines are not known for happy outcomes. If the blast and the burns don't kill those involved, Blackdamp will finish off any living thing.

Underground coal mining is reputed to be one of the most dangerous professions on earth.

No less, we all live in hope.

WW11 in Britain, many teenagers were CONSCRIPTED into the mines, instead of the forces; no choice. Bevin Boys.
Very dangerous indeed. So sad for New Zealand at this time. Hoping and praying here.
