all part of First United States Army Group (FUSAG) , created & put under the command of Gen Patton in hopes to trick the germans into thinking the real invasion of France would be at Calais, not Normandy. they were all, if I remember correctly, fictional units
 
PigPen is correct!

These are official U.S. Army Airborne Divisions that existed on paper. They had personnel wear these patches around and in towns. The object was to convince the spies in England that the American had more Airborne Divisions then there really had. It worked.
