Murphy's Law of Combat

Enemy fire is addressed in two ways: "To whom it may concern" and "Occupant".

Friendly fire isn't.

Incoming fire has the right of way.

Never share a fighting position with anyone braver than you are.

No battle plan ever survives contact with the enemy.

The most dangerous thing in a combat zone is an officer with a map.

If you really need an officer in a hurry...take a nap.

The most satisfying thing in the world is having someone take a shot at you, and miss.

Murphys law

Tracers works both ways

The most accurate incoming fire is friendly fire

Large targets draw attention, that's why carriers are called bomb magnets

Things that work together cannot be shipped together

Murhpys law in reality

While serving on the Balkan we wrote a company Murphy law list at the XO office with our own experiences. The first law was simply:

"Going home on leave after 3 months in the AO, your plane is cancelled."

Slightly amusing....
