Maturity in politics

Did FDR or Ronald Reagan ever called voters idiots? I think the politicians of America's past had class. Why doesn't this generation of politicians have more maturity? Is because a lot of these people were born with a spoon in their mouths?

Maybe the spoon is stuck somewhere else on their bodies instead. The TSA could help us figure that one out.
