Magnitude 7 quake strikes Solomon Islands, no tsunami expected

LONDON (Reuters) - A magnitude 7.0 quake struck around 80 km from Dadali in the Pacific Solomon Islands early on Thursday, local time, the U.S. Geological Survey reported. The USGS located the quake at a depth of 10 km. The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said that "based on all available data, a destructive Pacific-wide tsunami is not expected, and there is no tsunami threat to Hawaii".
