This fleet formation is not only popular among the naval forces around the world but it has also been emulated and extrapolated even by the Sea Tigers of the LTTE, using indigenously built naval crafts, during their sea battles against the Sri Lankan Navy. It is important to note that, according to the Jane's Naval Warfare magazines, the Sri Lankan navy had to learn from the Sea Tigers to eventually defeat them.
