Welcome aboard. I'm sure one of The Brit Pack will have an answer for you on your SAS ranking question.

I assume you are talking about rank as in promotion? As far as I am aware its the same as the rest of the British Army.

Trooper
Lance Corporal
Corporal
Sergeant
Staff Sergeant.
WO2
WO1

Then there are the Rupert ranks.

Or are you talking about something else entirely?

As per BritinAfrica, it's the based on the British Army rank structure but has very slight differences.

NCO's:

Trooper
Lance-Corporal
Corporal
Sergeant
Staff Sergeant
Warrant Officer 2 (Squadron Sergeant Major)
Warrant Officer 1 (Regimental Sergeant Major)

Commissioned Officers:

Captain
Major
Lieutenant Colonel

The Trooper was not an NCO, he´s a private
During WWII the Lance-corporal was only an appointment rather than a rank and did not have the same privileges as a true NCO.

Second Lieutenant and Lieutenant were also ranks in the SAS.

yes you are correct, I failed to point out that a trooper was not an NCO.
