Gilad Shalit is free after 5 years!

And the joy of seeing Gilad Shalit regaining his freedom is effectively spoiled by one of the freshly released terrorists claiming that she will grab the first possible chance to become a martyr and suicide-bomber... :???:

Indeed. A unit I used to serve in put away a lot of those bastards. All freed now. Its a shame. A lot of good boys risked their lives to capture some of these murderers. Many were under life sentence. Now, they will be free. Doesn't seem fair does it?

It seems very fair when you consider that they are most likely people who did no more than stand up to a murderous regime that has been stealing their land and killing their women and children for over 60 years.

If you must insist on treating people like animals, you shouldn't be surprised if they bite you.

What an axaggeration.
BTW an act of terrorism is in violation of international law.
It's a good thing that Shalit is free and I wish all the freed Palestinians a good health and a happy life (if they renounce terrorism of course).

Exaggeration??.... You would do well to remember what you just said about terrorism when talking of Israel.

Defending or trying to regain one's own country is not terrorism, but driving people out of their own country and oppressing those who remain certainly is.

They didn't stand up to a regime. These people were captured after engaging in terror activities. You know, strapping on a bomb and walking into a pizza parlor in Tel Aviv to kill teenagers. These are murderers and cowards, not soldiers.

They intentionally target civilians, they rarely, if ever, attack military targets. When their civilians die, it is because we made a mistake or because they wage war from densely populated civilian areas. We don't purposefully target their civilians.

Stealing what land? The Gaza Strip we withdrew from in 2005? The Palestinian cities of Ramallah, Jenin, Tul Karem, Bethlehem and Jericho that we withdrew from in 1994? Or how about 77% of the original Palestine mandate that Jordan, with it's 70% Palestinian majority, currently sits upon? Just whose land are we stealing? If your talking about Jewish cities and villages in the West Bank, none of them are sitting on Palestinian land. The land was either absentee (i.e. no owner) or was bought from local Arabs, often at an inflated price. Even more were established on what had been Jewish communities before those communities were either massacred or expeled by Jordan's Arab Legion in the 1948 war.

Who are we treating like animals? The Palestinian prisoners? You must be joking! These are terrorists, illegal combatants, that are tried on evidence, defended by state appointed lawyers and sentenced to prison terms like any other criminal. They receive free medical care in our prisons, family visitations, tuition free education and a roughly $350 a month allowance for shopping at prison canteens.

Who else are we treating like Animals? The Palestinians are governed by the Palestinian Authority and Hamas even though they receive their water, gas and electricity from us. Not to mention tens of thousands of tons a month in monetary and humanitarian aid we provide them. Thousands of Palestinians enter Israel for medical care (at our expense), access to OUR supreme court, education and work all the time.

If we are so terrible to them, how come thousands of East Jerusalem Palestinians are clamoring to turn in their applications for Israeli citizenship before a Palestinian state is declared?

Do yourself a favor and educate yourself. All you are doing is regurgitating age old propaganda.

If this is what you honestly believe, then I have some news for you: Palestinians never had a country in this land. They may have lived here, some for centuries, but they never had an independent Palestinian political entity before the creation of the PLO in 1964. The Arabs who lived here before Israel considered themselves Syrians and the overwhelming majority of them are descendants of Arab immigrants who came here in the 19th and 20th centuries following waves of Jewish immigration.
