G'Day from Australia

G'Day all,
Originally came to the forum looking for some research info on some Cold War era weapons and decided to stick around.

I'm a former member of the Aussie Army Reserve having served originally in an armoured recce regiment as an Assault Trooper, then corp transferred to the Infantry where I ended up training as a sustained fire machinegun specialist to eventually wind up as part of the battalion recce platoon.

I was in from the mid 1980s to the mid 1990s so I went from Jungle Greens and SLRs to AustCams and Austeyrs.
I'm currently working for a mining industry related analytical laboratory in Australia.

It might take me a little while to read through some of the forum but I've seen a few interesting threads that I hope to be able to contribute to.

Cheers,
Kevin

Cheers for the welcome guys.
I saw there were a few around here from Oz and the Land of the Long White Cloud so I figured I'd find kindred souls :-D

Thanks everyone,
You have certainly got a massive amount of information here, this forum is pretty damned impressive for the amount of knowledge the members bring to it!

Cheers,
Kevin

G'day mate. Welcome from another ex-RAAC Assault Trooper (B Sqn 4/19 PWLH).

:-D
Cheers!
I was in A Squadron, 1/15 RNSWL - the Parramatta Lancers - for about a year, then after moving to West Aust had an almost non-existent stint with 10LH in Perth because I moved out bush for work. Then I moved to Kalgoorlie and from there I transferred to C Coy, 16 Btn RWAR. Swapped my black beret for a bonnet (16 Btn being formed by officers from the Cameron Highlanders).
