Kiska island was the Aluetian island that the Japanese invaded as a diversion for the Midway operation.
You can see the craters of aerial bombardments and also the outlines of what may have been Japanese strong points.
The Japanese left the island without a fight but US and Canadian forces trying to recapture it took several casualties to booby traps and friendly fire nonetheless.
