Topic: Decent boots (right section?)

Not sure if this is in the right section. Found someone asking the same in the military gear forum but nobody answered. Also searched Google but all the answers were from 2008ish.

When it comes to boots I don't have a clue what I'm looking for. I'm planning to do some tabbing this summer in the Scottish highlands as its only a short distance away and we can get in some good training. Anyway my question is what are some decent boots? I don't want to break the bank but I'd rather pay extra and have boots that will last and be comfortable and supportive. You all seem in the know so any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

You can take a closer look at Altbergs boots, I've heard nice things about them. I don't have any personal experience of them.

German boots are pretty good too. Lowa and Meindl

There is also a military store in the UK, the Silverman

The back side of buying boots like the ones I suggested is; they are quite expensive, but spend your money on good boots and don't forget to buy quality socks.
