The country will stage its largest Air Force exercises next week since the 1991 collapse of the Soviet Union, while a naval convoy on its way to Venezuela prepares for a show of strength in the Mediterranean.
Aircraft including the supersonic Tu-160 nuclear bomber and the strategic bomber Tu-95 will take part in the Oct. 6-12 maneuvers in the Far East and in the central Volga region, the Defense Ministry said on its web site Thursday.
