Topic: About 100 weapons stolen from Norwegian Army camp last night

Just received the news here that about 50-70 AG3 (7,62x53mm) rifles, about 20 Glock and some sniper rifles have been stolen from a nearby Army camp last night..
http://www.nrk.no/nyheter/distrikt/n...d/4030703.html
(in Norwegian)

The thieves must have had a fairly good knowledge of the camp and buildings to be able to get all of those weapons, since they're pretty good secured, and there are armed guards patrolling the camp area.

Don't know many details yet, but a common thief doesn't steal 100 military guns.
Someone else must have ordered the robbery, and I'm afraid of what (and who) the weapons are for..

It turns out there was only one guy in the main gate that night, and no guards on patrol, because of budget cuts....

I believe (hope) we'll see some changes in the guard routines in every Norwegian camp real soon now.

We've got no more info about the robbery yet..

Doesn't sound like it's going to be fun times in the Norwegian Army for awhile, Redleg.

I don't know if that's only going to be bad.
There's been too many budget cuts lately....

Some more info have been made public now.
Looks like they got away with 50-70 AG3, 10 MP5, 20 Glock, 2 Lugers and only 1 sniper rifle.
They cut a 3 meter wide hole in the fence, and used a stolen military vehicle to transport the weapons out of the camp (to another vehicle).
The weapons were securely(?) locked in a weapons storage room, and they had used some heavy-duty tools to cut right trough the steel doors..

It looks like they may at least have got/bought some info from the inside.

It turned out that they didn't break into the weapons storage, but used the keys(!)..
They were locked in a key "box" in another building, so it's highly unlike they just did stumble over them.

Heard on the news today that there have been another break in attempt at a weapons storage in North Norway.
They were surprised by the camp guards, and scared away by warning shots, so they didn't get anything this time.

Security have been tightened a lot in every norwegian camp now.

Heard some good news today.

9 suspects have been arrested, and several weapons confiscated/found.

At least one of the suspects have been employed in the camp before, not sure if he's mil/civ yet...
