I always wanted to know was the A-4 retied because it couldn't out the missions anymore or it was just time to move onto F-4?
With out a bomb load was it easier for A-4 to escapee a SAM-3 or having the extra speed like in the F-4 more useful?
Could a A-4 beat a A-7 with guns only? Which was the better turning platform?
Could the A-4 withstand small arms fire well and still get you home? Certain aircraft get a good rep for that but don't know if the A-4 does?
Without a bomb load and flying alone which would be worse popping up on your six a Mig-19 or a Mig-21? Say at 20.000 feet with a half a fuel load and you needed a quarter of your fuel to reach base?
