AP - The global financial meltdown has pushed the ranks of the world's hungry to a record 1 billion, a grim milestone that poses a threat to peace and security, U.N. food officials said Friday.

I still am curious as to how they figure these numbers out... Go around to random 3rd world countries and poll? "Excuse me sir, are you hungry?"
 
may be that because we do not Suffer from obesity like the Americans so they think we are hungers...I eat one major meal daily.. but i Drink many fluids

Ahh, well,... they can cut that back to 999,999,999, as I just had dinner and am no longer hungry.
