I'd put money on the fact that counterfeit "secure" licences will be available to those who really want them before the legitimate ones have been fully issued to the existing citizens, if they are not already available.

I'd agree.

I'm not so much against a national ID matter of fact I'm for it. I don't think it's the magic bullet the republicans make it out to be. It won't stop illegal immigration, terrorism or crime (to include voter fraud). Sorry ain't gonna happen. Might make it harder but it won't stop it.

What I don't like and just spins me up is Chertoff and DHS and the rest of the Fed Govt mandating it for the states and yet not providing Federal Support for it. Since the formation of DHS the trickle down effect on local and state govt's has doubled and yet the fed won't support their own mandates. How are these mandates gonig to work without at least partial federal funding? I'd like to see how they figure it out.
