Who is/are your favourite comedian(s)?

Favorite comedy troupe "Monty Python" Their movie "Meaning of Life" was probably the funniest movie ever. Current American comedian/actor Bob Marley from Maine. He's pretty good in both "Boondocks Saints" movies. I could be a bit biased, I'm from Maine too.

I can't really say that I have a particular favourite comedian. the nearest i could come is to say "the Pommy (English to you Yanks ) comedians. Some are great for a while but wear very thin in the end when they start to run out of material.

Mr. Bean (Rowan Atkinson) Billy Connolly, John Cleese and a dozen others spring to mind.

I always remember filling in time between flights in Singapore airport at about 0200 one morning and coming across a crowd of people watching Mr. Bean in his Swimming Pool skit. They were of every nationality and skin colour known to man, and here they were, all standing there laughing and snorting so hard the tears were streaming down their cheeks.

The Goon Show during the 1960's with Spike Milligan, Harry Secombe, Peter Sellers and Michael Bentine was absolutely brilliant.

Two of Spike Milligans quotes stick in my mind:-

(1) I want "I told you I wasn't well," on my headstone.

(2) When referring to a prostitute in Italy during WW2 he said, "I knew she loved me, she only charged me half price."

Hehe I loved Spike Milligans war memoirs, Mussolini: His Part in My Downfall and Monty: His Part in My Victory were brilliant, I have been tempted to buy the audio books narrated by Milligan...

I thought long and well on this one and could not for the life of me come up with one.

I recently saw a pretty funny canadian guy on a stand-up show though. I have to get his name somehow and youtube him.

What ever happened to funny people?

It's hard to pick a favorite. I still like the 3 stooges, however the old Benny Hill show was hard to beat, as was Dave Allen.

Monty Python will always rule.
Eddie Izzard, Lewis Black, Louis CK,
Others I forget the names of

Nannoo, nannoo, r.i.p.

Robin Williams as Elmer Fudd

The 3 greatest STAND-UP comedians...

Richard Pryor
George Carlin
Robin Williams (the great thing about Williams is that he ad-libbed alot of his jokes, proving what a genius he is).

Unfortunately all have which have sadly left the stage. The runners up would be

Louis Black
Eddie Murphy
Chris Rock
Dave Chappelle
Rodney Dangerfield

Yes,Joan Rivers was one of the best stand up comedians. I found a classic clip from 1967 of her on The Ed Sullivan Show.

May she rest in laughter and peace.

She made us laugh at the unfair truths in our world.
