I saw on the news recently that the US kevlar helmet is about to be replaced with a lighter (6 llb) one that is just as protective if not more so. Sure hope so.
 
America has 2 different types, the normal "K pot" looks just like all the ones ya'll have shown. The other Special Forces helmet, is a lightly armored Hockey helmet, its light, but has very little protection. :cowb:

The rubber bands are for attaching bits of grass or pine for camouflage.

In the winter you just turn the cover inside-out and you get a white helmet
