Bottle

Bottle is the English colloquial expression for breath in the body. Someones bottle is how much breath they have in their body. Bottle is used as a metaphor for the amount of breath a person has within their self. Their bottle.

Breath is fundamental to a persons confidence. The cultural usage of the term bottle directly associates a persons breath with their confidence.

To have the bottle- to have the required amount of breath within their self and therefore confidence.
To not have the bottle- to not have the required amount of breath within their self and therefore not have the required confidence.
To have bottled out or to have lost their bottle is to have exhaled to the point where they have lost a significant amount of breath and therefore a significant amount of confidence.
