Okay so I know there are A large number of these floating around on here but here it goes. My AARC (All Arms Recruit Course) or basic training is coming up in the following weeks. I am after any helpful advice you can give me. Now i'm not sure if i'm allowed to do this but i do not care if its first hand knowledge or your great grand uncle told you it, all advice is welcome. This is for The New Zealand army so if any Kiwis out there do see this that would be great but generally any basic training advice would appreciated. Thank you in advance. :thumb:

I have a question with regards to the physical training that you can do yourself, prior to doing basic. With specific regards to Royal Navy/British Army basic training.

What should I begin at? (running distances, press-ups,chin-ups,sit-ups... all that jazz).

Cheers, hawky.

Some "propaganda" from the Army and Navy on physical training

My suggestion would be to give headwards a shout as he has probably been through it himself in the last couple of years.
