Rules for tank commanders...
1-The worst possible thing for a tank crew is to be under command of an infantry officer, who doesn't know anything about tanks,
That is with the exception of being under command of an infantry officer who knows a little about tanks…
2-The penetration capability of your enemies AT weapons is always enough to keep you wondering,
Except for when it's so high you are certain you will be penetrated.
3-Mechanics never come when you were supposed to be working anyways, they do come when you were supposed to be eating, sleeping etc.
4-Excellent fire positions always exist at the end of exposed routs, and never at the end of concealed ones.
5-The chance of rain increases by 50% when your track breaks or your engine dies.
6-The older the tank your in, the more chance of bad weather during deployment.
7-Tracks rarely break or come off unless you are either very far from base or very close to chowtime.
8-Machine guns critically jam on two occasions-
A) You have a lot of MG ammo for the exercise.
B) You have orders not to fire your main gun.
9-Tank drivers exist in 2 forms-
A) So stupid you have to constantly direct them.
B) Smart enough to drive on their own but also smart enough to run over things and blame the commander later on.
10-Tank gunners exist in 2 forms-
A) So bad they can't hit a battleship at 100 yards.
B) Good enough to hit the wrong target at 3000 yards when the company commander is watching.

11-Murphy was a tank commander.
