would the confederates have helped the Nazis

useless alliance

You can't fight an enemy with cotton balls. That was about all the South had to offer by the end of the Civil War.

Lets now discuss wich Uniform in History looked best?
Hello COFindus,

IMHO - NOTHING comes close to a Bavarian cavalry uniform ;)

Second runner up would be the 17th Lancers from Lord Cardigan's Light Brigade.

Both sides wore the same stuff. Sack & Frock Coats, & Shell Jackets. Union Vols mainly wore Sack Coats, Cavalry the Shell Jackets & Regulars the Frock coat made of 100% wool. Sky blue pants & dark blue coats. Confederates same thing with about a 1/3 of troops wearing each of the styles early on. The Shell Jacket takes less material, so by the end of the War 80% were wearing shells. Most were a 50/50 wool cotton blend called Jean Wool simular to demin jeans material of today. They were either gray or butternut brown so a little more colorfull.

They ran out of men, & disasterous Generals in the West allowing destruction of the Heartland. Most troops were well armed with Enfields, Austrian .54s & captured Springfields.

Hello Georgie,

yes - they might have had the same wool and cotton - but the Yanks just didn't come close to the cutting and embroidery of the Confederates.

The shoulder boards look strange even for an early War impression. Yeah, early on the Condererate Officers were dandied up much more than the Yankees, mostly gone in combat units by '63.
