Story go's that it shot done a German Aircraft.

Just crossed that little railwayline in my van yesterday.
Apparently, last year a car full of drunk teenagers hit it at the same crossing.Never realised it was armoured untill I read this so no wonder it caused such damage to them.

Was this the railway that carried mail in underground tunnels during the blitz?

It carried troops and anti aircraft guns up and down an area believe to be a potential German landing ground

It supplied the Beach defences, and also some of these trains armoured to to help repel an invasion if it came.
