ALTENMARKT-ZAUCHENSEE, Austria - A women's World Cup downhill was postponed Friday morning due to heavy wind and snowfall causing poor visibility, but officials called it highly unlikely that the race could take place later in the day.
"In these circumstances it is just unthinkable to stage a race," women's World Cup director Atle Skaardal said.
"We hope the weather conditions change radically very soon, otherwise we will have to cancel it."
Earlier Friday, a men's World Cup super-combi in Wengen, Switzerland was canceled due to overnight rain and warm temperatures.
