Women in the forces

There are no combat arms positions open to women in the US Armed forces.

Can´t answer your question any clearer then that.

as you were....one of the closest positions you can get is as a crew chief and hopefully you will get lucky and get on a UH-1. thats in the USMC anyways. im a CH-46 guy but a UH-1 is pretty much the front line of the helo's

Poetic Violence, are you male or female? Your profile says that you're male.

Perhaps, you could PM to Sunshine. Her future MOS in the Corps would be..uh... a gunner in the helicopter....that's what she told me.

You shouldn't worry so much about what unit type you can get into. With today's distributed ops and "no front" warfare, you do have the potential to get all the flash and noise you might think you want.

If you feel the uncontrollable urge to be a moving target or stationary target or drive an RPG magnet you can always enlist as an MP. Females are authorized and get evaced just like the males.......ain't that just too cool.

True, but it is not uncommon for "non-combat" troops to find themselves in the ****.

Depends on what you define as "the ****". I've seen very few rear area units get involved in b*lls out fire fight. MP's, Motor T etc all have that danger. Especially in the current environment.
