(6) Germany had a stinky EC, but a great last WC. NED had a good EC but did not qualify for the last WC. Germany lost FIFA ranking points because they did not play qualification games that increase point potential.
(7) Of course, we can list much older results, but my point is that the Germans have played well over the last year. With that young squad, that is what counts. Not even the last WC or even EC really counts.
(8) Did you do any research before betting against Germany. Costa Rica and Poland, come on. Germany has never lost to either (never even played Costa Rica before), and them ain't no good teams, and Germany has home advantage...NO home team has ever done worse than second round. Did you really think Germany (with the best European football record) would become the first...or did you just want that to happen? Hey, it was your money.
A bit of advice: National sentiments (I know about you Dutch, chuckle, chuckle) sometimes get in the way.
