What are the real reasons behind the Americans spying on Canadians despite Canada being a close ally and fully supports the US missions worldwide?

Armed U.S. Predator spy drones have been filmed patrolling hundreds of miles inside Canada with the full knowledge and support of Progressive Conservative Prime Minister Stephen Harper. A foreign state’s military is flying daily military sorties inside Canada. The purpose of these military operations inside Canada is espionage. This is a violation of the sovereignty of Canada. Stephen Harper is willfully threatening the safety and security of Canada by aiding and abetting a foreign state and its military to patrol Canadian airspace using armed military spy drones. A foreign military is patrolling Canadian airspace for the sole purpose of spying on Canadians. Stephen Harper is allowing a foreign state to commit covert acts of espionage against Canada and Canadians.

In Canada, the U.S. military Predator intrusions into Canadian airspace and over sovereign Canadian soil are deemed by Canadian Law as the most serious of threats to the safety and security of Canada. These unlawful military flights into Canadian airspace and over sovereign Canadian soil are acts of espionage. According to the “Canadian Security Intelligence Service Act (R.S.C., 1985, c. C-23)” they are classified as acts of espionage.

(d) activities directed toward undermining by covert unlawful acts, or directed toward or intended ultimately to lead to the destruction or overthrow by violence of, the constitutionally established system of government in Canada,

Seriously? Do you really think this is the reason why Americans are paranoid? I think it is because Canada is home to so many ardent supporters of radicalized extremist groups, starting from the Sikh terrorist group BKI to Tamil terrorist group LTTE and dozens of other Islamic Jihadi terrorist organizations.

They will never find the terrorists with using drones. The Americans need to get information from other sources to identify the members of terrorist organizations. Members of different radical organizations are hiding in plain sight, the drones might be used for following certain movements of these people, if the Americans know who they are.

This story about Predators flying the length of the border with Canada is true. One of the Predators ( or whatever the unarmed version is called ) is based at the former Plattsburgh air base. The aircraft is operated by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. In the past. small, fixed wing aircraft were based there and flew patrols along the border.
I wish to point out that the only foreign terrorists ever captured in the U.S. made entry from Canada.
The border is very porous. At one time, there were dozens, possibly hundreds of roads that crossed the border with no border posts. In the area of Plattsburgh, New York there were over two dozen. Most have now been blocked, but it necessary to keep some open. In the rural areas of both countries the nearest fire or emergency medical is on the other side of the line. I would also point out that there are towns and even individual houses that straddle the border. North Troy, Vermont / Highwater, Quebec being just one example. The white line in the middle of the main street is the boundary between two countries.
This is just Canadian paranoia about U.S. intentions. The U.S. no longer wants Canadian territory. Canada has a lot of valuable resources, but the U.S. can simply buy them and not have to bother with Canada's internal problems, such as the Quebecois.

Good to know about this conspiracy theory lead from the mild backgrounds. Recently an article by 'five eyes' circulating telling Canada Spying on US. Other than that there is nothing clear or worth mentioning here.

Hope Obama and Trudeau discuss why they spy on each other and make public what was going on in recent years with CIA and CSIS, if not they will have to deal with just another Julian Assange, that's for sure!
