DAMMIT! They have Canvas Repair Specialists in the Army? UGH! And here I've been wasting 11 years on a TANK! Man, I really screwed my life up... LOL. No, seriously, though, every job in the Army is important. I have a buddy of mine that's a 74B, that's like an Info Systems guy. Like data entry/ programming. That's a COOL MOS.

If I'd have thought it through, I would have gone laundry and bath. Think about it. Clean clothes and a shower EVERY day, in the FIELD!

Our major used to tell us we would be best qualified for the 101st Messkit Cleaning Battalion.

What does a Canvas Repair Specialist do exactly? Would you be attached to another unit or is it a garrison position?

Mainly repaired canvas
You know, that stuff that kept you (somewhat) dry while in a tent or vehicle?
I was attached to a maintenance troop (company), 2 of us for an entire Regiment. Mainly, I fixed the zippers on humvees and repaired tents. Sometimes we made custom tents and stuff for the brass, like a TOC extension or cargo covers on humvees with pintle mounts. Usually, though, I helped out the machinists, carpenters, welders, and other guys in my section. If you could think it, we could build it.

Pretty much. What do you think happens when soldiers get free reign of a machine shop? Well, they REinvent the science of ballistics, of course. I'm still nopt sure if using a nitrogen bottle as a projectile is legal, but it sure is fun!

Sounds like they need a new MOS for unconventional weapons specialist.
