Whats your favorite gun

Not entierly sure on that one. I know that the M-16 was a good gun, but when the troops in VietNam used it, they had a tough time having the gun jamm on them.

That was the original M-16. Even that one was alot less likely to jam if it was kept clean, but the addition of the forward assist in the M-16A1 removed any other tendancy to jam.

That is an added bounus. My dad owns an M-16A1. He says that it has a tendancy to need alot of maitence. Not sure if that is because he shoots with it on almost a daily basis?

The Sterlings we used -- we just called them SMGs ("smigs") -- may (or may not) have been good in their day, but they were fairly well-used by the time I got one around '85. It had the opposite problem from jamming: switching between Safe, Repetition and Auto could make it fire a burst without even touching the trigger.

The main advantages to the SMG versus the C1:

- much lighter
- much shorter (you could actually stick the thing in the side pocket of your combats, if you forced it)
- easier to clean/maintain
- much lighter
- fully auto (the C1 was straight semi-auto)
- much lighter (did I mention that?)

Main advantage of the C1:

- You would more reliably hit and kill what you were shooting at

I have been a big fan of the Glock 9mm hand gun, as it is light and very versatile. I have also been looking at purchasing a Desert Eagle, can anyone tell me if that would be a wise choice?

Well, I would have too say my favorite firearm in the world between six of my firearms...

1) New England Firearms Pander Model 20 Ga.
000_0548.jpg

I can hunt just about any game animal in Florida. Bird, waterfowl, deer, hog, rabbit, or squirrel. Also, it was my first firearm ever.

2) Israeli Mauser 7.62X51 NATO
000_0550.jpg

It's a great battle rifle in a great caliber. Works as a good hunting rifle and also as a good rifle for self defense.

3) Marlin Glenfield Model 20 .22LR
000_0549.jpg

There is not a single small game animal alive that this rifle can't take.

4) Marlin 1895G .45-70 Government

With this rifle, I can hunt anything from Whitetail Deer to the Five Big Dangerous Game of Africa.

5) Glock 23C .40 S&W

I've got the same type of Remmy, Luis. Use it for duck hunting and if I need to wax a deer with a slug.

I've shot most of the firearms you've listed in your second to last post- the M4 is a joy to shoot. Can LEOs in your area get colt 9mm SMGs?

Yeah, but I think it's a waste of time. Why have something in 9mm when you can get it in 5.56.

If folks want a 9mm carbine. Get the Beretta CX4 Storm. It works off the Beretta M92 mags.

And those are just some of my firearms.

hmmm, lemme think about what I have...

numerous (about 5) 22 rifles.
.410
12 guage 870, 3 inch
12 guage brownign, 3.5 "
20 guage browning gold
Savage .32
SW .357 mag
.25 automatic
.30-06
.270 savage (deer rifle)
.30-30
Several .22 pistols.

all I can think of off hand

Christ almighty Luis..... aren't you afraid that if a burglar hits your house you'll be defeated by indecisiveness? You be looking at your cabinet wondering with which gun you'll shoot him.... and that would take a while by the look of it!

P.s. How many hands do you have?

The good and old M240

It looks slighty different to the Gimpy I was issued, scope aside. Mine didnt have the cover over the barrel or the item fitted to the right of the barrel, the flash hider looks different too.

Brilliant gun.

Another gun I am very fond of is the BREN, sadly the ones we had in 303 and 7.62 were war time manufacture 1943 Mk3 and badly worn
