I was wondering what type of internet connection you are using ?

Pls write the name of your ISP (Internet Service Provider), speed and how much are paying for it per month.

Let me start:

ISP: UPC - Chello
Speed: 3 Mbps / 384 kbps (download / upload).
Price (per month): 119 PLN (that’s 39,66 $ or 30,82 €).

supposed to be 256kbps :) dont know about the other info heh.. But the download is about 25-30 kb(not sure its like this?) per second..

ISP is .. how do I find out? lol

For 256kbps internet connection max download speed is 32kb (so its correct).

Mighty try this link http://www.myip.dk/

Below your IP address there should be the name of your ISP.

BTW: With 256kbps you must have very high pings when playing online games.

15mbit in and 1mbit out..
It would have been nice to get some more speed out, but it works for me..

ahh thanks. Well below my IP it says "CE-TEC.kuwait.net", but I dont know, is this the ISP?

And yes, I do have high pings heh, how do I get lower pings?

8 mbit, $25
Can go 100 mbit fiber for $15 more but 8 adsl it enough for me, only upload that I would want higher.

To get better ping, get closer to the server ;) or possibly chose a server closer to you, thats usually simpler haha)

if thats not enough, get higer speed ;)

Download: 353,376 bps
Upload: 46,248 bps
QOS: 89%
RTT: 459 ms
MaxPause: 317 ms

Not bad for working on a mobile solution (GSM/UMTS)

Download speed depends on the server that you are downloading from.
Fast servers will allow you to download with maximum speed of your internet connection - slow ones not.

Bandwidth throttling and load balancing are def big parts in your download speed but also distance to server matter as well...

Say you are in the US and you want to download a 3 meg file, it will take longer if the server the file is hosted on is say in Australia versus Texas....However you may not really notice a huge difference all the time...

Another tester (US only I believe)

Yet another that has server all over the US to test off

An Irish one

I have an download of 3 mb/sec, but i think our provider just changed the plan for us or upgraded it for some reason. It's cable, but lately it's been acting weird as far as connection is concerned, but dsl doesn't sound too thrilling either.
