I was just assigned that position in my JROTC battalion(YAY!!), but I'm not exactly sure what I'm supposed to do. I do know that i need to keep an updated record of all the cadets information and that I'm supposed to do something with promotions and awards and stuff. Other than that I really have no clue what to do. Any help would be nice...and asap please.

Adjutant? If your organization is the same as a Naval rifle battalion, you keep muster, run ceremonies, maintain contact lists...basically, you do all the paperwork.

Wow, your school assigns staff positions? Mine has a strict interview process where you are only eligible after at least two months of serving as the assistant...

The S-1 is the Personnel Officer. He/she handles promotions, demotions, and is responsible for keeping all the contact information current for all cadets. It's a lot of paperwork. Are you army ROTC?

Battlaion S-1 if your army is the Adjudant you have lots of responsibilities

1. make orders( a list of who came to special events)
2. keep files for promotions and such store them and enter them
3. battalion roster and contact sheet
4. during awards ceremony you announce the people and their award
5. announce guest at military balls

if i forgot anything i'm sorry lol

In the real military you would be the OIC of all the POG's that screw up everyones, record books, orders and pay.
