WASHINGTON - Protesters energized by fresh congressional skepticism about the Iraq war demanded a withdrawal of U.S. troops in a demonstration Saturday that drew tens of thousands and brought Jane Fonda back to the streets.
A sampling of celebrities, a half-dozen members of Congress and busloads of demonstrators from distant states joined in a spirited rally under a sunny sky, seeing opportunity to press their cause in a country that has turned against the war.
The House Judiciary Committee chairman, Rep. John Conyers, threatened to use congressional spending power to try to stop the war. “George Bush has a habit of firing military leaders who tell him the Iraq war is failing,” he said, looking out at the masses. “He can’t fire you.” Referring to Congress, the Michigan Democrat added: “He can’t fire us.

Jane Fonda went to an Enemy country, then added an Enemy engaged against the United States Military, during the Vietnam War.
She should have been charged with Treason, but she was not strangely enough. Lucky for her there is a 10 year statute of limitations when dealing with Treason.

pro war protesters demand war protesters to have a nice big cup of SHUT THE F*** UP!

Jane Fonda should be charged with treason. Along with John Kerry and the rest of their ilk.

Senator Kerry?
Sure Kerry was in Vietnam, in the United States Military, fighting, unlike the person who refused who now sits in the White House, along with his Draft Dodging Vice President.

Funny how Republicans and their ilk talk about support the Troops, Veterans and such, when Republicans and their ilk only support other Republicans, even if said Republicans refused to fight for America, even if said Republicans dodged the draft.

The worse thing you can be is a democratic politician who happens to be a combat vet. It makes all the poor chicken hawks in Washington squirm. Especially those with "who had other priorities" (Cheney) or "wanted to go to Vietnam, but couldn't because all the spots were given to blacks" (Tom Delay). And here's something else thats telling. I have never heard a combat vet criticize the War record of another. That particular brand of vile only comes from those who didn't serve.

But those draft dodgers can not be criticized because after all they are Republicans, Republican uber alles.

So instead they reserve their venom for people like Murtha, Kerry, Cleland, Gore, just to name a few of the real 'traitors' to our country.
