I never would have thought of Gibson as "anti-English." I simply would have concluded that he made two movies in which the English were the antagonists. Does his role in We Were Soldiers mean he's anti-Vietnamese? Does his role in Payback mean he's anti-police? Simply seems like a rather silly assertion to me.

For those looking for a Korean war movie, I second the motion with Tae Guk Gi. It is as fully capable of grabbing you by the short and curlies as Saving Private Ryan.

I know the US is probably just about WWIIed out by this point, but what was the last realistic movie about the war in the Pacific? Windtalkers certainly doesn't qualify.

I'd like to see something about the Russo-Finnish War. More specifically, I'd like to see a movie about Simo Haya. GI Joe walked the earth, but he was a Finn!

There are so many other sides to WWII in Europe besides D-Day through the conclusion of the war. I don't think you could go wrong with a movie about any of it. Enemy at the Gates interested me in spite of its inaccuracies and foibles for the simple reason that it covered something out of the norm for WWII movies.

I'd quite like to see a movie made about the battle for Kursk
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Kursk

Special effects would have to be pretty good, the whole film would be quite the epic

Me personally with the special effects and realism available to film makers now, i'd like to see a remake of the greatest raid of WWII. The commando operation to destroy the only dry dock on Europes Atlantic seaboard capable of repairing the German Battleship Tirpitz, 'The Raid on St Nazaire 1942'. And by the way they were'nt Royal Marine Commandos they where the original and best The Army Commandos!

WWI hasn't seen many good films. if you watch the "Lost Battalion", don't quote me, but one of the guys in the background appears to be toting an M-60.

Any israeli war movie would be nice since hollywood seems to scared to depict the israelis fighting against arabs in fear of a backlash or something. Just seeing the sort of things going on during that conflict would make for an excellent movie if done properly like saving private ryan.

Also given the situation in the world now, a movie on the soviet invasion of afghanistan without rambo in it(or with if it adds to the plot some how ) would be nice.

Bollywood should make a serious movie on the indo china war of '62, that could be pretty interesting but probably biased.

A mexican american war movie would be pretty interesting since all anybody of thinks about from that conflict is the alamo and davy crockett. Note: the movie must take place after the alamo so that it doesn't contradict my previous statement.

Because we haven't had one since the 30's, how about a WW1 movie that uses modern technology to really get a feel for the horrendous trench fighting that took place. It can take place in a German camp with a bunch of brooding soldiers who have to put up with the slapstick antics of corporal Adolf Hitler.

Last but not least a movie about some ancient war would be welcomed, my suggestion would be the the second punic war starring hannibal.

Nice suggestions! Let meadd the Egyptian-Hittite Battle of Qadesh, and maybe early Roman wars against the Samnites. What slapstick antics did Hitler do during WW1?

"What slapstick antics did Hitler do during WW1?"

Mainly running around the trenches trying not to get killed while delivering messages and pretending he was born in Germany. All while humming "lili marlene".
