As you can see Brit I to thought it was absurd, or as I said ridicules. Being 1/2 British I'm aware of some off color remarks he's made about us in the past. I think Tet tried to make light of it by calling it satire how sincere he was, well? I gave him the benefit of the doubt.

Without the Canadians, the battle of Atlantic had been in jeopardy. The RN didn't have enough ships to escort the convoys. The Canadian shipyards produced many escorts ships and the Canadian navy increased a lot during the war years.

No doubt the US contributed a lot during the war, but so did the UK and the commonwealth countries.

The US really couldn't help much early on except “for massive lend lease” until 42. Even then it took us > year or so to ramp up from a small antiquated armed force to a effective fighting force. By the time we took Tunisia "together with the British and common wealth forces" that we were coming on to our own 5-43. The British and common wealth armies had fought the Axis in North Africa since 9-1940.
Although the Americans lost thousands of men in Normandy the British and Canadians lost ~ 60 thousand dead and wounded taking Caen. Note: Caen was one of the most heavily fortified areas in the world and was critical for a victory in France.
It was after the Normandy campaign 8-44, that the US’s raw numbers started to come into play
