US Wasted Billions In Iraq

They've already shown they don't want our help. They're glad we're there as long as they don't have to do any of the work. But when we ask them to take the guns and fight for themselves, we get nothing. Let us remember that Al Qaeda is NOT a group specific to Iraq or Afghanistan.

Actually Rob, the Iraqi's want us there as long as we give them stuff (Money and Equipment). As far as their taking the lead on their own security, I bet that after we leave Iraq completely, there will be a HUGE spike in violence. One thing that the extremists have demonstrated is that they have NO qualms about killing their own people.

Islam, as it is practiced in Saudi Arabia, Iran and some African nations, is anathema to our way of life. It is the single most repressive aspect of their culture. Until we can convince them that freedom benefits everyone, we are spinning our wheels. Add to that the people who are in power now don't want any changes either. Kinda like our own legislative branch.

Absolutely. And even getting more education in the United States might help our situation abroad. First generation immigrants could phone home to their families in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, Iran, or any other country and tell them, "Hey, you know, the United States really isn't a bad place."

What a schmuck! More education? ET Phone home?

These are third world countries, the immigrants here can't call home. Those countries are lacking in basic infrastructure. A large portion in those countries can't read or write. Plus immigrants from those countries are a drop in the bucket.

Educate them in their own country? Not if the Tali-ban or Al Qaeda have anything to say about it.

They want Sharia Law enforced, that means no education for women, no equal rights. (Even a second year college student should be able to figure that as half the population).

You believe homosexuals should be treated equally. How about Sharia Law?
How Sharia deals with homosexuals. Execution!

We need education and it should be vastly improved so that people don't try and apply their life styles to countries and peoples that don't have them.

Islam is more than just another religion, it is all encompassing. It includes governing. And not by vote, but by religious leaders.

And all those that hate "right wing-church going hunters" in the US, are really going to hate being governed under Sharia Law.
