BAGHDAD, Nov 3 (AFP) - A US soldier was killed when his patrol struck a
roadside bomb south of Baghdad, the military announced Thursday.
The incident, involving a Task Force Baghdad soldier, occurred on Wednesday,
the statement said, giving no details.
Two Marines were also killed when their helicopter crashed Wednesday on the
outskirts of the restive western Iraqi town of Ramadi.
The deaths brought to at least 2,027 the number of US military personnel who
have died in Iraq since the March 2003 invasion, according to an AFP tally
based on Pentagon figures.
