Updated list of Islamist terrorist attacks.

Italian Guy

Milforum Hitman
Hi guys. I'm trying to do something pretty big, although not too big, specially if you help me with this.
I'm trying to drop a complete, accurate and updated list of Islamist terrorist attacks all over the world since the early 90's. Algeria, Thailand (The South), Saudi Arabia, Indonesia (Bali, Maluku), India (Kashmir), Turkey (Istanbul), Morocco (Casablanca), Spain (Madrid), US (USS Cole, 9/11), Kenya & Tanzania (1998), Egypt, UK, Australia (Bali was meant to hit Australia), the Philippines (Abu Sayyaf), Russia (Beslan, Moscow), Tunisia (Djerba island), Pakistan, not to mention Israel of course. And then the UN (Baghdad) the Red Cross (Baghdad), Italy (Nassiriyah) and so on.
For instance we might have forgotten but Egypt was targeted last october when 34 people were killed, or back in 1998, when 58 were killed at Luxor.
Like Samuel Huntington put it, "Islam has bloody borders".
I suggest to think about what happened from the USS Cole on, and then we can recall what happened before that date (less accurate I think).
Can anyone help me? Maybe Sword_Fish could help as far as India is concerned, or some Russians can list the several attacks that hit Moscow in the past years.
Thank you.

a lot, but still... it wasn't directly against australians and it has ended up affecting the Balinese a lot more than it has us

Thank you Sword, I'm taking notes. So were all these attacks that you mentioned carried out by al Qaeda and affiliates?

Hi,

Most of the Attack ( almost all ) were carried out By Lakshar-e-Toiba and Jaish-e-Mohammad Two terrorist Group based in Pakistan and have Close Links to Taliban and Al-Quida .

If you want to know more about them here :)

Jaish-e-Mohammad: A profile

Jaish-e-Mohammad is a relatively new but rapidly growing group.

The group emerged out of Harkat-ul-Mujahideen in the months following the hijack of an Indian Airlines plane from Kathmandu in December 1999.

The hijackers demanded the release of three militant leaders, two of whom later became leading figures of Jaish-e-Mohammad.

The group has continued to grow and until recently reportedly had the support of a large number of religious seminaries in Pakistan.

India blames Jaish-e-Mohammad along with another militant group for an attack on its parliament in Delhi in December last year.

The group denies the charge but the attack led the US State Department and the Pakistan Government to impose a ban on it for alleged terrorist activities.

The men behind

Jaish-e-Mohammad is believed to have been started by a Muslim cleric, Maulana Masood Azhar.

Mr Azhar was among the three militant leaders set free by the Indian authorities in exchange for the hostages held with the Indian Airlines plane.

He is now one of India's most wanted men.

A close associate of Azhar - Sheikh Omar - was also set free.

Born in England, Mr Omar studied at the London School of Economics for a year.

Pakistani police are now hunting for Omar who they are reported to believe is directly involved in the kidnapping of Wall Street Journal correspondent, Daniel Pearl.

Focus

Jaish-e-Mohammad literally means the Army of Mohammad.

Largely based in Pakistan, the group has been linked to a string of violent attacks in India, especially in Indian-administered Kashmir.

It claims to be fighting, what it describes as a holy war, to overthrow Indian rule in Kashmir.

The group is also believed to have had close links with the former Taleban regime of Afghanistan and Osama Bin Laden's al-Qaeda network.

Mr Azhar visited Afghanistan earlier where he was reported to have met the leader of the vanquished Taleban movement, Mullah Omar, and also Osama Bin Laden.

Mr Azhar was placed under detention after the Pakistani President, Pervez Musharraf, banned his Jaish-e-Mohammad group last month.

Source:globalsecurity.org

The Lashkar-e-Taiba group is thought to contain numerous non Kashmiris - possibly members of the Taleban movement of Afghanistan - which are thought to be unwilling to be seen to make any concessions at all to India. The Muslim militant groups based in Pakistan threatened to kill Americans to avenge comrades killed in the August 1998 American cruise missile attacks on of Osama bin Laden's terrorist training camps in Afghanistan. Pakistani militants killed in the US attacks were members of Lakshar-e-Taiba and Hizb-ul-Mujahideen. A total of eight of their members died. In November 1998 Lakshar organized a religious gathering of 50,000 youths near Lahore, at which participants chanted slogans in support of bin Laden and vowed to avenge the US attack on his camps. Pakistani officials estimated the three-day gathering cost organizers about $1 million. It is unclear whether any of the funding came from bin Laden. The gathering was one expression of what the State Department has acknowledged to be "considerable public sympathy and overt support" for bin Laden in Pakistan. According to Indian officials, the Laskhar-e-Toiba and Shora-e-Jehad coordinate their operations with both the Babbar Khalsa International and the International Sikh Youth Federation [ISYF].

On 03 November 1999 Lakshar-e-Toiba launched a "suicide squad" assault on the center of Indian rule in Kashmir, attacking the army's 15th Corps Command, which oversees all military operations in Kashmir.

Locke, don't worry they'll eventually get there.

...Might be a while but they'll get there. Then we can put you on the list.

...Oh wait some of them maybe getting there now.

Minority religious groups in Australia's immigration detention centres are being persecuted and physically assaulted by Muslim asylum seekers...
