The "Glorious" Glosters have an amazing history. The only regiment (if my memory is correct) to have a cap badge front and back of their head dress.

Their cap badge looks very much like the 24th Regiment of Foot that fought at Isandlwana and Rorkes Drift.

One of my uncles was a Glorious Gloster in the Korean campaign. He also served in India, Palestine, WW11 in Europe including Italy, Cassino, and was at the opening up of Belsen. He led the parade to Gloucester Cathedral on their returning welcome. He was Regimental Sergeant-Major, later he became Capt, as the rules changed and then eventually he trained cadets at county level.
