:? I have a patch from a member of my family that I have yet to identify. Can someone help :?: It is round and has a blue star in the center which is surrounded by a white "cloud" with 6 humps. The white "cloud" has a red boarder. I have checked the USMEDALS.com site and looked through the Army and USMC patch pages with no luck. I am at a loss. ANYONE? :2guns:

If this is what it looks like, it's from the Army Services Forces during WWII (1941)

That's exactly what the patch looks like. Even though it is an Army Services Forces patch could it have been issued to someone in the Marines during WWII?

Doubtful. The Marine Corps had their own patchs referred to as "Battle Blaze's" At the Division Level , They also had Blazes for Raiders, Parachute Bn's, Defense Bn's, and for elements at the MEF and FMF level.

I found some of these in my step dad's stuff after he died. He went to Korea in 1952 with an Engineer unit under 3rd Infantry. The only picture we have of him in uniform has the 3rd ID patch on his Greens. For some reason he had several of these.
